A couple weekends ago...

A couple weekends ago (14th & 15th May) I forgot that I do have a some good shots of various fashion! I realized that weekend how much a karaoke machine can reel you in.
This bright orange jacket caught my attention firstly because if the color. Bright orange, I don't have anything of this color caliber in my wardrobe. The only thing that kept it grounded instead of try hard is the random 'kappa' logo's on the chest and different zippers put round the place.

H&M Magazine

mp;M have a new magazine out in their stores right now for everyone to have a peek at what they're selling! In Alice Springs though, we don't have a H&M store to find the magazine. I went to their website and found the online magazine and put some of my favorite outfits here!

Quiz Night

OLSH Alice Springs had a Quiz Night last night (8May2010) to raise funds for their East Timor. There was a theme to dress up as your favourite TV or Movie character. Olivia and I came to the conclution that we both love Dirty Dancing and Flashdance. So we combined those two ideas to rock up wearing these:
Legwarmers, leggings, shoulder pads, massive jumpers and curly hair was a must!

Saints Wearable Arts Fashion Show

On Friday (7May2010) my little sister invited me to see the St. Philips wearable arts show. I was quite surprised to see the many different designs from the 20 entries. I thoroughly enjoyed myself with the crazy designs and mixtures of food, plastic, glue and fabric.
This dress was made out of pages taken from books. I wondered about how many books she went through to create this! I like this dress because of the construction and how it resembles a wedding dress.

What they wore - Met Gala 2010

When it comes to high-stakes, high-fashion events, nothing compares to the Metropolitan Museum of Art's annual Costume Institute Gala. The ridiculously glamorous benefit always draws the creme de la creme of the glitterati and invariably produces the most intriguing red carpet of the year. Monday's soiree lived up to this reputation, as celebrities, models, and designers turned out in droves to celebrate 2010's exhibition—American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity. Co-hosted by Oprah Winfrey, who was resplendent in a custom Oscar de la Renta navy silk organza embroidered gown, Gap's Patrick Robinson, and Vogue's Anna Wintour, the Met Gala attendees toasted American style in a most memorable way. We've gathered a few of our favorite looks of the night for your viewing pleasure, ranging from Chloe Sevigny's flawless teal frock to Alexa Chung's modern tuxedo. Read on for all the details and don't forget to tell us which ensembles you liked best—and why! (We always love to hear your thoughts.)

Perfect at work snac

Here's the recipe(as I understand it)of a yummy snack given to me at my lunch break at Hanuman:
Ingredients:
  • 2 pieces of roti bread
  • Banana
  • Cream (it looked like cream anyway)
  • sugar
Mix cream and sugar until combined. Add in banana chopped. Dunk roti bread in water and throw onto hot pan. quickly plop banana mix onto roti bread and top off with other slice. You should have what looks like a banana roti sandwich. Flip over when one side of roti bread is crispy. When both bread is cooked, chop up into squares, pile them upon top of each other and drizzle with strawberry or raspberry sauce.

Thank You Ali!

Destruction of a McDonalds Toy

Look at that cut toy form the movie How to Train Your Dragon. It's not like the big scary ones form the old movies and stories you hear as a kid, this one's almost cute. "Would something like this look good elsewhere?" I thought, "Maybe on a fascinator?". With the help of my little sister, the destruction master, we proceeded to take this toy apart and the investigate further into adding it to another object.

Heidi Mount

As a mom, major model, and muse to illustrious designers like Karl Lagerfeld, multitasking is just the name of the game for Heidi Mount. With a travel schedule that has her pinging from Paris to New York to LA and back, she manages to spend more time on the road in a month than most people do in their entire lives. (We just like the fact that she documents it all via Twitter in her signature down-to-earth way.) Considering Mount's peripatetic lifestyle, it only makes sense that her fashion sensibilities are just equally nuanced and varied. Whether she's dressed for downtown or showing off a dramatic evening look at a red carpet event, Mount is always one to watch.
