On sunday there was a massive celebration of creatively crazy fashion at the Sustainable Couture fashion show at the Araluen Craft Centre! The show kicked off at 3pm with every designer having models wearing 3 of their favourite designs. All the designer’s hard work paid off with the massive crowd to watch the show and the excited reactions to every outfit!
Kathy Frank was our designer for the show. Her specialty is felting; she does felting in classes, in the craft centre and at home. Believe me I’ve seen all the felting equipment and fabric! You can see her love and passion for felting in the clothes we wore!
I wore a Tunic/ Micro mini dress designed and created my Kathy Frank. The front circles were made from Kathy Frank’s spare pieces of fabric felted together. It was made form 2 old Living waters jumpers and a lot of hand felting to create such a warm and comfortable outfit!
My Little sister MC wore a loose bat-winged top also made out of Living Waters jumpers. I like how the shirt allowed MC to show off her legs and decorate her big arms in a clever and creative way. The stripes down the front of the jumper were also from spare fabric felted together and moulded into the top! MC also liked how it was a high round collar, she doesn’t like deep v-neaks.
Here are some of Carmel Ryan's models. I didn't take more pictures because I was too busy talking! But you can see more pictures on Facebook on the Sustainable Couture Page and Claire Ryan's Photography
