Year 10 Foraml in Alice Springs - 29 Oct 09

In Alice Springs recently we have celebrated the year 10 formal and the viewing exhibited many different tastes and fashions of the younger ones at the local school.
The most popular dresses that I observed were either really short or full length dresses. The maxi dresses dominated the scene for the larger lady, while the 'minies' and 'shorties' were for the more daring.

This dress really stood out for me because it was exciting! Everyone else had 'safe' and 'generic' colors for their formal. This gal was bold and went for bright and contrasting colors. I'm glad that she didn't overboard with the accessories, because that would've been to much for the eyes.

These ladies looked fabulous! The simple purple dress has black lace added and it adds a bit of flavor to the dress, and she has a matching clutch bag! The little-black-one-shouldered-dress is uncomplicated and the belt gives her silhouette a very nice waist. The white dress was effortlessly gorgeous on the girl. The lace detail on the hem of the dress reminds me of snow, and the woven cream clutch compliments the dress perfectly. The last gray dress has movement  in the gathered fabric even though it's a body-hugging dress. The frills on the shoulders and neckline balance the dress out and the purple clutch adds a splash of color to her outfit!

This white dress I admire because it is reminiscent of Chanel's earlier couture show where they mixed French lingerie with flowing ball gowns. I love how it's tight at the top and then becomes flowing and light in the bottom.

This red dress was gorgeous but I think it was a little 'old' for a young person. Nevertheless it was a warm red halter neck with red sparkles that is tight and becomes loose at the bottom. I adore how this girl doesn't want to show too much but she carries herself and the dress very well.

I think that all these girls have made excellent choices in their dresses for the evening and their accessories choice was great!
