Gaia Repossi and Alexia Niedzielska
Ever the magpiesparticularly when looking at a sea of winter blackwe were immediately drawn to the flashy frock and rich jewel tones that Gaia Repossi (left) and Alexia Niedzielska's wore to attend the Purple Fashion Magazine party. We love how Repossi's metal-wrapped slouchy Isabel Marant boots complimented her glittery garment, while the contrasting white-on-black look of Niedzielska was very au courant! And though their chic satchels and beautiful bracelets and rings certainly add an indulgent element, we think their devil-may-care attitude is the perfect finishing touch!
Margherita Missoni
The poster child for her family's namesake line, Margherita Missoni is always decked out in the maison's best. Her ensemble at the La Perla Fall 2010 Presentation was no exception to this rule; Missoni looked darling as ever in a black lace blouse (a key piece for autumn), Missoni stripe sweater, and boucle tweed skirt. We love how she effortlessly combined patterns and textures for a tantalizingly tactile and intriguing outfit. Her black suede Louis Vuitton Sophia Coppola Asphalt Bag ($3730) and felt fedora personalized the dark-hued look, which fell right in line with all the somber shades seen on the fall runways.
Olivia Palermo
One of our favorite stylesetters, Olivia Palermo, was snapped looking perfectly pulled together (as always) at Rachel Roy's Fall 2010 presentation. The society gal-turned-accessories editor routinely pulls off statement pieces with personal panache, and her oversized leopard print belt is another testament to her knack for exciting details. We like how she mixed this animal accent with the Crinkle Silk Scoop Neck Dress from Roy's pre-fall collection for a fashion-forward take on the khaki-craze. As well, we appreciate how she kept the rest of her look classic and clean with ladylike earrings and an understated gold cuff.
Alexa Chung
As evidenced by the barrage of good press Alexa Chung received for her first capsule collection for Madewell, it looks like this Brit is still making waves on this side of the pond! The darling dresser capitalized on her extensive vintage closet to create a line that is both adorable and seriously covetable. And while we can't wait to get our hands on her striped jumpers and cute collared frocks, we are certainly happy for now to know that her velvet shorts (worn with leggings), button-up blouse, and sporty peacoats will be hitting the stores sometime this summer!
Kirsten Dunst
Actress Kirsten Dunst looked impeccably chic to attend the Patrik Ervell Fall/Winter 2010 show. Her improvised suit of all-black pieces was anything but basic, and we love how she mixed an Opening Ceremony satin top, Patrick Ervell tweed pants, and Bottega Venetta Suede Platform pumps for an understated, yet intriguing. look. We also flipped for her choice of directional eyewear. Dunst's striking elongated cat-eye Ralph Lauren Eyewear Sunglasses in Dark Havana ($375) are already on our radar for spring, and we're excited to see this frame shape in action!
Erin Wasson
While the lovely Erin Wasson has strutted her stuff countless times for a myriad of high-profile labels, lately she's spending more time behind the scenes creating her namesake Erin Wasson X RVCA collection. Snapped backstage at her fall show, Wasson looked ever the model-turned-designer off-duty in a gold vest, off-the-shoulder white tee, and striped bell pants. While her ensemble certainly paid homage to her rocker-bohemian aesthetic, it also took on a more refined look with luxurious fabrics like gold brocade and satin. Finally, Wasson completed her seventies-inspired look by piling on bangles, rings, and necklaces from her emerging Low Luv line.
Agyness Deyn
This major model looked tres chic in a Breton-stripe bateau top while backstage at Alexander Wang's must-see show last weekend. While he showed rich velvets and chenille, it looks like animal print and oversized trousers still have legs with the supermodel set! We also like the substantial leather satchel Deyn carried all over town; it's the perfect way to tote all of your essentials when running between shows and soirees all week long!
Meredith Melling Burke
Once again, Meredith Melling Burke proves that it is possible to always look elegant, polished, and stylish even when work is at its most demanding. Vogue's Senior Market Editor opted for a demure buttoned-up Ralph Lauren top layered underneath Jen Kao's Cashmere and Chinchilla Cable Knit Tunic ($875). Her multi-buckle Guiseppe Zanotti boots grounded her outfit with a little tough-yet-luxurious touch, while her J.Crew coat rounded out the ensemble with a little borrowed-from-the-boys insouciance!
Chloe Sevigny
Chloe Sevigny is known for her bold fashion choices, so we were hardly surprised (read: thrilled) when we spotted her at the Purple Fashion Magazine Dinner in a striking all-leather ensemble. Her Bustier Top ($980) is courtesy of the label Blouson Noir, which was launched for Spring 2010 by editor/stylist Melanie Ward and former Karl Lagerfeld consultant, Graham Tabor. Sevigny mixed this neutral top with Opening Ceremony's equally edgy Leather Circle Skirt ($690), finishing the look with a party-perfect YSL clutch, some seriously enviably toned arms, and an eye-catching fuchsia lip color.
